Port Blair, March 27: The Public Hearing for preparation of Draft Integrated Island Management Plan (IIMP) of Shaheed Dweep Island which was scheduled on March 29, 2023at 10 am at the Panchayat Hall, Gram Panchayat Neil Kendra, Shaheed Dweep has been postponed due to administrative reasons. The fresh date and time for the public hearing will be informed immediately after obtaining approval from the competent authority.

Port Blair, March 27: The Andaman & Nicobar Emporium- Sagarika, a Government Emporium functioning under the Directorate of Industries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration having four outlets located at Middle Point (Port Blair), Airport (Port Blair), Cellular Jail (Port Blair), Radhanagar (Swaraj Dweep) and Connaught Place (New Delhi) will remain closed from April 1 to 5, 2023 in connection with annual stock verification.

Port Blair, March 26: The Member of Parliament of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, has once again made Andaman & Nicobar Islands proud as he has been awarded the Sansad Ratna Award yesterday (25.03.2023) for the second consecutive year.

The prestigious award was given in recognition of his cumulative performance in questions, private members’ bills and member’s debate in the Parliament from the beginning of the 17th Lok Sabha till the end of the Winter Session 2022.

Port Blair, March 26: A Millet Mela was organized by the Food Safety Department at Marina Park, Port Blair today. The mela was inaugurated by Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Commissioner Food Safety, A&N Islands in the presence of Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Joint Commissioner (Food Safety)/ADM and Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS and officials of Food Safety Department. In her inaugural speech, the Commissioner Food Safety greeted the gathering assembled in huge number for celebrating International Year of Millets in this Union Territory. She appealed the gathering to adopt millets in their daily diets and get the required nutrition as well as other health benefits. She further visited various millet stalls displayed by various Government Departments, Self Help Groups, NABARD and other Food Business Operators and appreciated their efforts for promoting millet consumption.
